Wee are instructed in Ephesians Chapter 6 stand the ground against the powers of the enemy , and put on the whole armour of God. Christians in the South West will meet together for the 5th consecutive year as Halloween is taking place, and Brexit is being decided to pray and worship and make a stand against all the negative things that evening represents. Together with our good friend Rev`d Steve Wild we invite every one who is available to join us on this very important evening. Church leaders and every one are invited to this joint Cornwall Worship , Cornwall Prayer initiative and Cornwall Churches Together event as we strive to work together in Unity in the South West.
We met together in Helston by the boating lake on Flora Day 8th May 2019. Weather forecast was not good, and at the beginning of the week it looked as though we might have to abandon our celebration. But God was good! We were able to praise Him together in song and witness that Jesus is Lord. Our speakers, Lindsay Hamon, Steve Curruthers and Gordon Smyth clearly presented the Good news about Jesus’ love for us and we were thrilled to have the very gifted singer Maggie Holden singing Your Love changes everything. A truly inspiring afternoon.
We returned to Porthoustock and once again the name of Jesus was exalted. The occasional gust of wind didn’t distract from the time of worship, nor the preaching by Revd John Ough and Revd Fran Johnson. A great time of praising and worshipping was had by all. Jesus is Lord!
Cornwall Worship at Land’s End on Sunday 4th March 2018
In order to complete the instruction in Psalm 72v8 the Trustees met to worship at the Saltash Celtic Cross beside the Tamar, and at the westerly point at Lands’ End. At the latter visit it became clear that there was more to do and the Trustees are to await God’s instructions on this. Alleluia.
On 13th May 2007, in response to a prayerful vision and Psalm 78 verse 2 “He shall rule from the sea to the sea and from the River to the end of the land,” Cornwall Worship held a joyful celebration at the iconic Minack Theatre. Ten years later on Sunday 9th July 2017 we met at the other end of Cornwall at the Celtic Cross, Saltash to praise and worship God, to proclaim that Jesus is Lord and to give thanks for the way that God blessed us with over 20 celebrations all over the County. Although this was the smallest event, we felt that we had gone some way to honouring our commission to exalt the Name of our Saviour in the far east of our County.
2017 was the tenth anniversary and God provided again when we met at the Minack. Amazing sunshine and a joyful time of worship led by One Heart and the Salvation Army Devon and Cornwall Youth Band with an uplifting talk by Geoff Davies.
The name of Jesus was exalted at Porthoustock beach on a lovely Sunday afternoon. No wind, and the sun came out during the event. We were led in worship by One heart and the singing was rousing as is always the case with a Carolaire. There was a good number of people gathered to worship and Rev’d Steve Wild brought his frog puppet ‘Clarence’. He preached the cross powerfully and at least one person gave their heart of the Lord. Jesus is Lord!
In the truly scriptural manner the people worshipped God, as on a mountain, to the music of OneHeart and both the St. Ives Male Voice Praise Choir and the Fore Street Methodist Church Gospel Choir with a most excellent address by Gordon Smyth. There was an abundance of joy and Cornish cream teas for everyone; a real Alleluia.
